$76,800 OBC Two-Year-Old Filly Trot

Tilly Bomb (Ray Paver), Beehomeontime (Jim Dailey) and High Class Broad (Richard
Stillings) won divisions of the $76,800 Ohio Breeders Championship two-year-old
filly trot. And, all three juvenile fillies scored impressive open length
victories in gate to wire fashion.
Tilly Bomb, a Chip Chip Hooray filly owned by Slaugther Racing Stable, Alex
Rohrer and Jeremy Nalli, equaled the track record of 1:59.3 set in 2005 by I
Like Stephanie. The time was also a national season’s record. Tilly Bomb,
trained by Tom Davis, defeated E Pegasus by 4 3/4 lengths with Up Front Janet
third.
Behomeontime was on top by eight lengths and coasted home by 3 1/2 lengths in
2:01.2 to defeat Shinin Pearl and Pat Pat Hooray in the second division. The
winner, by Big Victory, is owned by James Mullinix and John Willis and trained
by Jim Mullinix.
Third division winner High Class Broad opened up a big lead coming off the final
turn to win by 2 1/2 lengths over Belle Lavec and BJ’s The Bomb in 2:01.1.
The Pegasus Spur filly is owned by Richard Gillock and Chris Chambers and
trained by Jim Arledge, Jr.
$81,699 OBC Championship Two-Year-Old Colt Trot
Ohio Sires Stakes Champion Ima Spur (Martin Wollam) established a stakes and
track record of 1:58.3 in winning the first division of the $81,699 Ohio
Breeders Championship two-year-old colt trot.
The Pegasus Spur gelding won for the eighth time this season and increased his
earnings to $105,128 for owner Bob Troyer. Lumberjack Lavec finished second by
15 lengths.
Sturdy HRB (Brett Miller) who finished second to Ima Spur in the Ohio Sires
Stakes Final, won the second OBC division in 1:59.2 by 5 3/4 lengths over Doctor
Reece and One Sharp Spur. The winner, a colt by Sturdy Sahbra, is owned by Hans
Bachman and Martin Streuli and trained by Martin Wollam. This was Miller’s
eighth win of the meeting.
Slick Lavec (Jim Dailey) won the third division in 2:01.3 with a surge through
the stretch and finished three lengths in front of Docdor Skip and Smarty Marty
Z. The winner, by Master Lavec, is owned by Paul Thiesing.
