The Third Elimination of the 51st Little Brown Jug was quite exciting, yielding a photo finish so tight that even the judges were having trouble determining the winner. The two horses in question were Mattropolis, driven by Brad Hanners, and Armbro Oliver, driven by Mike Saftic. At one point, the announcer asked the crowd for a vote. The crowd seemed to be about equally divided between Americans rooting for Mattropolis and Canadians rooting for Armbro Oliver. The judges' decision put Mattropolis as the winner of the Third Elimination of the Jug, with a time of 1:52 2/5. Armbro Oliver thus finished second, and Bubba Gump, driven by Anthony Morgan, finished third. |
