DELAWARE, OH—Sustaining payments for the sophomore pacing classics Little Brown Jug and Jugette, Old Oaken Bucket (3-year-old open trot) and the Buckette (3-year-old filly trot) are due February 17. These payments are for foals of 2012.
The Little Brown Jug and Old Oaken Bucket will be raced Thursday, September 24 and the Jugette and Buckette on Wednesday, September 23.
The 2014 Little Brown Jug attracted 16 entries and went for a record purse of $647,500. The $298,100 Jugette drew 22 entries. The Old Oaken Bucket and Buckette were contested for $118,300 and $89,475 respectively.
The 2015 Delaware Grand Circuit meet will have a couple of notable changes. The meet will return to five days of racing (Sunday, September 20 through Thursday, September 24). Monday’s card will have a special 3:00 PM post. Sunday and Tuesday will go postward at 1:00 PM. The Jugette and Jug cards will retain their traditional 11:00 AM start time.
The racing officials have also elected to pay all purses based on the 50%-25%-12%-8%-5% schedule.
