Frank Welker, LBJ Society and Delaware Fair Board Member, Dies

DELAWARE, OH - Frank J. Welker, 85, a longtime member of the Little Brown Jug Society and the Delaware, OH County Fair Board, died February 8.

Born February 20, 1925 in Newark, OH, Mr. Welker graduated from Willis High School in 1943 and proudly served his country in the U.S. Army during World War II in the 42nd Rainbow Division.

Welker was also past president of the Delaware County Agricultural Society and served 24 years for the fair. He ran the money room and gates during the fair. Frank was an active member of the American Legion and was instrumental in being the laision between the Fair Board and the Legion when the log cabin was built on the backstretch.

Visitation will be from 4 to 7 p.m. Thursday at the Robinson Funeral Home in Delaware, OH. Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. Friday at the Robinson Funeral Home.
