Ohio Roundtable, a group which opposes gambling is seeking to block Ohio Gov. John Kasich's move to add video lottery terminals at 7 Ohio horse-racing tracks.
Kasich is looking to generate an additional $350 million dollars in license fees, plus millions more would need to be invested in the 7 Ohio tracks. Hundreds of millions of dollars a year in tax revenue would also be lost. Ohio Roundtable argues that voters should have a say in any attempt to expand gaming in Ohio.
As proposed VLT would be an expansion of the Ohio Lottery.
