Lexington, Ky--Bettor's Delight shook loose midway through the stretch
and once again defeated arch rival Real Desire in the $401,400 Tattersalls
Pace Friday afternoon at The Red Mile. Bettor's Delight won the Tattersalls
in 1:49.4, the second fastest in the history of the stake.

Driver Mike Lachance shot Bettor's Delight into a quick lead at the start
as John Campbell was forced to the outside behind Full Of Fun. However, Full
Of Fun ducked to the rail and Campbell was hung outside with no cover through
a 27-second first quarter.

As the field straightened in the backstretch, Campbell shot Real Desire
past the leaders and reached the half in a blistering 52 3/5 seconds. Real
Desire continued in front through the three quarters (1:22) but gave way to
Bettor's Delight in the final eighth of a mile, with the latter going on to
win by 2 1/2 lengths. Bagel Beach Boy finished third, another two lengths
behind.

"I stung him for a piece but I did not want to kill my horse," said
Lachance. "I got lucky and was able to get out in the stretch. Real Desire
probably has more speed than my colt, but Bettor's Delight is more rugged."

The victory gives Bettor's Delight a 7-1 career margin over Real Desire.
The win was 9th of the season of Bettor's Delight and increased his total
earnings to $2,510,214. The colt is owned by John Grant of Hornby, Ontario,
and trained by Scott McEneny.

Bettor's Delight, the even money second choice in the betting, paid
$4.00, 2.10, 2.20; Real Desire returned $2.10 and 2.10 as the 4/5 betting
favoriite; and Bagel Beach Boy paid $4.00.

The Bettor's Delight-Real Desire rivalry will likely continue Friday,
Oct. 19, in the  Breeders Crown 3YO Pace at Woodbine in Toronto, Ontario.

Chasing Tail, who captured last week's Kentucky Futurity,  came from 15
lengths back after the opening quarter to win the $175,000 Transylvania 3YO
Trot, giving the Donerail  colt back-to-back victories in the two oldest
stakes races in harness racing. The Futurity was first raced in 1893 and the
Transylvania is four years older, beginning in 1889.

"As long as I could see them I knew he would do the rest," said driver
John Campbell. "I'm glad we had a fast first half (54.4), that helped. I
tipped him out at the top of the strech and he just trotted on his own. He
knows what it is all about."

Chasing Tail had only four wins before coming to Lexington. "He had all
kinds of problems. Chuck (trainer Chuck Sylvester) was patient with Chasing
Tail and he's really good now. I think he'll race well in next week's
Breeders Crown."

Chasing Tail now has 7 victories in 11 starts this season and earnings of
$748,267 for owners Al Libfeld, Irving Liverman, Marvin Katz and Sam
Goldband.

Western Shooter (Western Hanover) won the fastest of the four divisions
of the $401,100 Winbak Farm 2YO Pace. Western Shooter, driven by Campbell,
won in 1:52. Other Winbak winners Royal Mattjesty (Matt's Scooter) 1:52.1;
Kilowatt (Western Hanover) 1:52.4 and Louie Louie Too ((Jenna's Beach Boy).

Campbell won the Red Mile driving title with a record 37 victories.
