February 12, 2001 Delaware, Ohio--Tim Fouts, 38, presiding judge for the Delaware, Ohio County Fair and a U.S. Trotting Association regulatory department official, was killed early Saturday morning in an automobile accident in rural Delaware County. Fouts, a native of Delaware, served as Presiding Judge during the Delaware's 2000 Grand Circuit race meeting. He had been an associate judge at Delaware for several years. He also served as a racing official at many of North America's leading harness tracks including Scioto Downs, Northfield Park, Ladbroke at The Meadows and Liberty Bell Park. He had been head of the USTA's Driver and Trainer Licensing Department since July of 1996. Fouts is survived by wife Lisa and three daughters, Kalee, Tyler and Megan. Contributions to the Tim Fouts Memorial Fund can be made through the USTA. These funds will be to educate his children. Visitation will be from 5 to 8 tonight at Bennett-Brown-Redmon Funeral Home in Delaware. Services will be at 11 a.m. Tuesday at the funeral home. |
