At Kentucky Horse Park

May 25, 2001

Little Brown Jug winner Western Dreamer has been selected to join the elite equines in the Hall of Champions at the Kentucky Horse Park in Lexington, Ky. Western Dreamer became the first pacer in 14 years to capture Pacing's Triple Crown when he won the Little Brown Jug, Cane Pace and Messenger Stakes in 1997.

Western Dreamer joins Staying Together as the Standardbred representatives in the Hall of Champions following the death of Cam Fella. The State Park is also home to Thoroughbreds Cigar, John Henry and Da Hoss along with Quarter Horse Sergeant Pepper Feature.

Western Dreamer, a gelding, retired in the fall of 2000 with a mark of 1:49 taken at four and $1,812,176 in purse earnings. He was named Pacer of the Year and Three-Year-Old Pacer of the Year in 1997. He is owned by brothers Patrick, Matthew and Daniel Daly. Western Dreamer has been living on a farm in Caledonia, Ontario.

The date for Western Dreamer's arrival at the Horse Park has not been determined. The Kentucky Horse Park is the most visited tourist attraction in The Commonwealth of Kentucky, with nearly one million people a year visiting the facility.
