Running Start, Lifes A Dream & Hasty Hall Are Winners
Delaware, Ohio--Running Start, trained by Brett Pelling who has trained three Little Brown Jug winners, is bounding down the Road to the Little Brown Jug. The Life Sign colt won his division of the $300,000 Burlington Stakes at Woodbine Raceway in Toronto in 1:52.1. Sons of 1993 Jug winner Life Sign also won the two other divisions, non-Jug eligible Peruvian Hanover upset Real Desire in 1:51.4 and Lifes A Dream scored in 1:52 over Hawaiian Cowboy. At Northfield Park in Cleveland, Hasty Hall topped his $100,000 division of the Cleveland Classic in 1:54.1 over 2000 Woodrow Wilson runner up Dancer's Legacy. Running Start and Mike Lachance defeated Cardmaster Hanover and Picnic In The Park in his second 2001 start. Pelling has trained Jug winners Armbro Operative (1996), Shady Character (1998) and Astreos (2000).
