Delaware, Ohio--Strong Scooter paced the fastest mile of the season by an
aged pacer on a half-mile track, in winning yesterday afternoon's $37,000
Senior Jug in 1:50.1 at the Delaware, Ohio County Fair.

Trainer Carl Conte, Jr., who lives about an hour from New York City in
Cream Ridge, NJ, donated his trainer's commission to the New York
City-Washington DC relief fund. "That's the least I can do" he said in the
winner's circle.

Strong Scooter outdueled Sharky Spur early and then set a torrid pace to
win by a neck over Sharky Spur with Marlow Hanover and Carolina Rich less
than a length behind at the end. The victory was the 5-year-old's fourth in
18 starts this season and raised his earnings to $254,366.
Brett Miller drove the winner. Strong Scooter paid $6.20, 3.20, 4.20; Sharky
Spur 2.60 and 3.20; and Marlow Hanover $3.80.

In earlier action Sunday afternoon Incredible Sharon scored a huge upset
over Sand Squaw in a division of the $100,162 Ohio Breeders Championship for
two-year-old pacing fillies. Scootin Mercedes captured the first division in
1:56.4.

Incredible Sharon, catch driven by Jim Dailey, took an early lead and
easily held-off Sand Squaw in 1:56.1. Sand Squaw was seeking an Ohio Triple
Crown after winning the Ohio Sires Stakes Championship and Ohio State Fair
Stake.

Five-year-old trotting horse Strikin' Bug equaled the world record of
1:56.3 in a $10,400 OBC 4-5 YO Trot division.  Kyle Ater drove the winner who
defeated Heza Laser and Lady Inquirer.
