September 20, 2001 Delaware, Oh--Pleasure Chest overhauled Electrical Art in deep stretch to win the second and final heat of the $313,150 Jugette 3YO Filly Pace by 1 1/4 lengths over Eracer Hanover Wednesday afternoon at the Delaware, Ohio County Fair. Canadian Mike Saftic drove for New Zealand trainer Mark Harder and owners Brian Nixon of New York and Aubrey Friedman of Ontario. "I am supposed to drive at Windsor tonight, but if I win the final of the Jugette I may have to stay (in Delaware, Ohio)," Saftic said after Pleasure Chest's elimination heat victory. After the race Saftic said, "To get to Delaware is a goal every year. I'm glad I was able to put my nose on the gate. She raced so tough the first trip that I was a little concerned if she had anything left in the tank. She was a deserving winner today." Pleasure Chest had to overcome post nine and a breaking filly in the first division and was ninth at the first quarter. She moved to eighth at the half and was still sixth at the three-quarters. "You don't like to start the race on the right line, but it worked out good," said Saftic. Pleasure Chest ($13.60) won the second elimination in 1:55.1. Pleasure Chest paced her final quarter in :29.2 to edge Eracer Hanover and Raging Heart in the Final in 1:54.4 over on a track dulled by day-long rain. The victory pushed the Cambest filly's earnings to $384,616. Pleasure Chest paid $6.00, 4.40, 3.80 as second choice to 3-5 first elimination heat winner Electrical Art. Eracer Hanover was worth 5.20 and 4.20 while Raging Heart paid $5.00. Electrical Art won her elimination in 1:55.4 for John Campbell who kept his filly in the two hole until pulling out at the finish to defeat Eracer Hasnover by 1 1/2 lengths in 1:55.4. Terina's Best finished third.
