By Tom White Columbus, Ohio--Charlie Bowen, director of stakes sponsorships for The Red Mile, is recovering at home with congestive heart failure. Bowen became ill last week at the home of a daughter in Alexandria, Va. After treatment in Virginia, Bowen returned to Columbus, Ohio on Sunday, January 13. He had been on a business trip through New Jersey and New York. On Monday morning, Charlie was taken by emergency squad to Grant Hospital in Columbus. Following a series of tests he was diagnosed with congestive heart failure. No surgery was performed and doctors determined that Bowen's condition can be treated with medication, special diet and exercise. This was not the first time Bowen has suffered such an attack. Unfortunately, Charlie's wife, Lee, is also having health problems. Bowen is recovering at home and is continuing his duties for The Red Mile.
