Thomas Walsh Named Little Brown Jug

Thomas  Walsh,  Jr.,  a  prominent  owner  and industry supporter, has been
selected as the 18th Little Brown Jug Wall of Fame inductee.

 

Walsh was chosen by a 23-member panel of national and international harness
racing enthusiasts.

A  standardbred owner for more than 40-years, the Woodbury, New York native
co-owned  two  Little  Brown  Jug  champions Magical Mike (1994) and Armbro
Operative  (1996). Walsh and his Shadow Lane Farm have also campaigned such
stars  as  Conway Hall (career earnings $682,016), Bold Dreamer ($531,258),
Victory My Way ($508,291), McClusky ($430,388) and Miles McCool ($333,721).

Walsh  has  been  a  generous  patron  of  several industry efforts and was
presented  with  the  United  States  Harness  Writers' Association William
Haughton  Good  Guy  Award in 1998. Walsh's generosity helped establish the
Magical  Mike  Invitational Pace at the Delaware County Fair and is largely
responsible  for  the building of the Little Brown Jug Barn that houses the
Jug starters.

Walsh  is  also  the  owner  of  Colonial Wire and Cable, a manufacturer of
electrical  wiring products, and currently serves on the Board of Directors
of  the  Standardbred Retirement Fund, the Harness Racing Museum and TIMES:
In Harness, an industry trade publication.

Walsh  will  be officially inducted and presented a commemorative gold ring
at  the  Little  Brown Jug Mayor's Breakfast at Ohio Wesleyan University on
September  18, the morning before the 57th Little Brown Jug at the Delaware
County Fairgrounds.
