Art Major and Million Dollar Cam have moved into the
forefront of
contenders for the 57th Little Brown Jug. Art Major won his elimination of
the Cane Pace, his ninth win in his last 10 starts, in 1:53.1 and Million
Dollar Cam took his elimination in 1:52.2 at Freehold Raceway. The
$350,000-estimated Cane Pace, the first leg of Pacing's Triple Crown, is
scheduled for Labor Day afternoon, September 2.
Meadowlands Pace winner Mach Three, who finished fifth in
the
Confederation Cup Final, did not race this past weekend.
The second leg of Pacing's Triple Crown is the
$600,000-estimated Little
Brown Jug on September 19 at Delaware, Ohio, followed by the $300,000
Messenger Pace on October 26 at The Meadows.
Art Major, who is coming off triumphs in the
$450,000 Hoosier Cup and
$600,000 Confederation Cup, led all the way for John Campbell to win by 1
3/4
lengths over Monsoon Hall, Cam's Fast Gun and Life Is A Cabaret. McArdle,
who
finished fifth, failed to qualify for the Cane Final.
The victory also pushed the Artsplace colt's winnings to
$588,747 for
owners Deena Frost, Thomas and Louis Pontone and Lou and Debora Domiano. The
colt is trained by Bill Robinson. Art Major was bred by Brittany Farms and
sold as a yearling for $65,000 at Tattersalls.
Million Dollar Cam, driven by Luc Ouellette, is also on a
hot streak. The
Cam's Card Shark youngster won his elimination and Final of the $300,000
Delvin Miller Adios and captured his elim of the $600,000 Confederation Cup.
Million Dollar Cam then finished just a length back of Art Major in the
Final.
Million Dollar Cam, also trained by Bill Robinson,
defeated Soho by 1 1/4
lengths. Also, qualifying for next Monday's Cane Final, were Allamerican
Ingot and Mystic Art. The victory pushed Million Dollar Cam's bankroll to
$634,660 for owner Jeffrey Snyder who pushed the colt ad a yearling for
$270,000 at Harrisburg, Pa. from breeder Roger Holland.
Next up on the Road to the Jug is the Cane Pace followed
by the Jug
Preview September 7 at Scioto Downs and the Simcoe Stakes on September 7 at
Mohawk Raceway.

Worldly Beauty Wins $685,400 Fan
Hanover
Jugette favorite Worldly Beauty edged Precious
Delight by three-quarters
of a length in the $685,400 Fan Hanover at Woodbine Raceway in 1:51.4.
The
Artsplace filly led all the way for her seventh win in nine tries this
season
and hiked her earnings to $1,353,256. Wordly Beauty is trained by
Patrick
Lachance and was driven by Luc Ouellette.
The $313,000 Jugette will be raced Wednesday
afternoon, September 18 at
the Delaware County Fair.

Real Desire & Four Starzzz Shark Win Canadian
Pacing Derby Elims
Four-year-old Real Desire held off Camotion to win
a $55,000 division of
the Canadian Pacing Derby in 1:50, the Life Sign colt's seventh
straight
victory. Real Desire, driven by John Campell for trainer Blair
Burgess, sent
his earnings to $2,845,024. Also, James Morrill, Jr. guided Four
Starzzzz
Shark to a 1:51.1 victory in the other division for trainer Edward
Hart. Four
Starzz Shark won by 4 1/2 lengths over Electric Stena and By A Length.
