are the early favorites for Wednesday's $294,950 Jugette
Filly Pace at the
Delaware, Ohio County Fair. Fourteen three-year-old fillies
will battle in
two $53,091 divisions with the top four finishers returning
for the $159,273
second heat.
Grand Circuit harness racing begins
Saturday at the Delaware County
Fairgrounds with 16 races scheduled for Saturday and Sunday
afternoons. First
race Saturday and Sunday is 12-noon. Post time for Wednesday's
32nd Jugette
and Thursday's 57th Little Brown jug will be 11 a.m.
Breeders Crown champion Cam Swifty, 2-1
in the morning line, is the
richest ($840,666) and fastest (1:50) of the 14 fillies. The
Cambest filly,
owned by Royal Wire Products of North Royalton, Ohio, has
four victories this
season including the $350,000 Mistletoe Shalee at The
Meadowlands. No driver
has been selected. Always An Art, the 5/2 second choice to
Cam's Swifty in
division two, won a $69,225 division of the Shady Daisy at
Freehold in her
last start. The Artsplace filly is owned by Arlene and Jules
Siegel of New
Hope, Pa. David Miller will drive Always An Art.
Lady Graceful is the 5/2 favorite in the
first division with John
Campbell listed to drive. The Camluck filly, owned by Robert
Waxman of
Ancaster, Ontario, won her $67.225 division of the Shady
Daisy in her last
start. She was also third in the Final of the $431,802 Fan
Hanover on August
24 at Woodbine. Cam Land Stable's Always Cam from
Washington, Pa., at odds of
7/2, has six wins in her last eight starts including firsts
in the $39,807
Adioo Volo and $100,000 PASS Final. No driver has been
selected for the
Western Hanover filly.
The entry box closes at 10 o'clock
Saturday morning for the
$600,000-estimated Little Brown Jug.
