Standardbred 2-YO Trotting Stakes Top Delaware Card

 Delaware, Ohio--Ballroom Delight  and CR V Eight scored wire-to-wire
victories in the two Standardbred Grand Circuit stakes for two-year-old
trotters Tuesday afternoon at the Delaware, Ohio County Fair. The $294,950
Jugette three-jyear-old filly pace heads Wednesday's schedule. First post
Wednesday will be 10:45 a.m. First post for Thursday's Little Brown Jug day
will be 11 a.m.

    Ballroom Delight, a Malabar Man filly owned by Joseph Konen, Stephen Ol
dford and Eugene Oldfield, zapped Sand Chic by 6 1/2 lengths in 2:01.2 in
the $45,410 2-YO Filly Trot. Americansnowqueenk was another head back in
third. The victory was Ballroom Delight's third of the season to almost
$80,000. Dave Hawk drove for trainer Lloyd Hawk.

    CR V Eight, owned by James Wheeler, survived a three-horse photo to win
the $52,510 2-YO Colt Trot in 2:01.3 for his second victory of 2002. Jan
Nordin, winning at Delaware for the first time since 1990, edged Mac's Crown
K and Solicitor Hanover.
