Real Desire and Chip Chip Hooray In Action Thursday At Delaware, Ohio

    Delaware, Ohio--Two-time Breeders Crown champion Real Desire and
$1,000,000 Hambletonian winner Chip Chip Hooray will share Thursday’s Little
Brown Jug racing program at the Delaware, Ohio County Fair. Real Desire will
race in the $105,550 Magical Mike Pace and Chip Chip Hooray will face eight
rivals in the $122,310 Old Oaken Bucket. Post time for Thursday’s 18-race
card will be 11 a.m..

    Brittany Farms, Robert Burgess, Perretti Farms and Karen Olssonburgess’
Real Desire comes into Thursday’s Magical Mike with eight victories in 10
starts this season including wins in the $566,000 Canadian Pacing Derby,
$400,000 U.S. Pacing Championship and the $500,000 Breeders Crown. The son of
Life Sign, bred by Fair Island Farm, has victories this season in 1:48.2,
1:48.3, 1:49.4 and 1:50-flat. He has a lifetime bankroll of $3,078,958. The
4-year-old, who finished second in last year’s Little Brown Jug, is trained
by Blair Burgess and will be driven by John Campbell.

    Real Desire will face some tough competition in Haughton Memorial winner
Four Starzz Shark ($1,135,107-1:49.3) and Dan Patch victor Camotion
($1,709,672-1:48.3).

    Chip Chip Hooray has dropped three in a row since winning the
Hambletonian on August 3 at The Meadowlands. He won an elim of the Yonkers
Trot but finished fourth to Bubba Dunn in the Final. He then finished third
in two heats of the World Trotting Derby. The smallish son of Pine Chip is
owned by trainer Chuck Sylvester, Mike Prakas, Wingedfoot Farms and Neal
Golden. Eric Ledford will again be in the sulky. Chip Chip Hooray has won
three of nine outings in 2002 and shows career winnings of $1,039,962 and a
lifetime record of 1:53.3. Challengers will include Hand Glider, Rich Rewards
and Malabar Motion.

            Lachance, Brennan Replace Case On Jug Assignments

    Mike Lachance and George Brennan have replaced Walter Case on three Jug
horses. Case was taken off all of his drives today and Thursday after he
failed to show Sunday through Tuesday. He had been listed to drive 12 horses
on today’s card. Lachance will drive New York Matts in the first elimination
and Western Resolve in the second. Lachance had already gotten the sulky
assignment with 2-1 third elimination favorite Art Major. Brennan will drive
Fancy Schmansy in third elimination. Brennan also had drives with Life Is A
Cabaret in the first elim and Equinox Hanover in third.
