Trot Magazine Readers Select Little Brown Jug Most Anticipated Stakes Event Of Summer

In a broad showing of support for all of racing's most coveted and historic events, readers of Trot magazine chose The Little Brown Jug as the most anticipated stakes event of the summer in a web poll conducted by Standardbred Canada.

With 837 fans casting votes, The Little Brown Jug topped a star-studded stakes list including the North America Cup and the Hambletonian. Voters were asked to select which race they look forward to the most over the summer months.

In an earlier poll, readers of The Horseman and Fair World magazine voted George Scooter's upset victory over Gallo Blue Chip in the 2000 Little Brown Jug as the "Race of the Year." Astreos' triumph in the Jug raceoff was the second leading vote getter.
