Little Brown Jug Ranks High In Fan Interest According To Newspaper Poll

Delaware, Ohio--Ohio State football is king in Columbus, Ohio, but which other happening do you most look forward to each September? This was the weekly poll conducted by the Columbus Dispatch.

The Little Brown Jug and the Grand Circuit racing at Delaware, Ohio came in a strong second to the start of the NFL season. The NFL drew 32 percent of the vote while the Little Brown Jug commanded a total of 23 percent. Others, high school football (18 percent), Blue Jackets of the NHlL open (15 percent), baseball's pennant races (8 percent) and NASCAR (4 percent)

RECORD NUMBER OF JUG & JUGETTE SIMULCAST LOCATIONS

From California to New York City and throughout Canada to Europe, a record number of simulcast locations will show Wednesday's $358,000 Jugette and Thursday's $600,000-est. Little Brown jug.

"We are very excited about the record number of locations again this year here in Delaware, Ohio," says Jason Settlemoir, simulcast director for the Delaware County Fair. "With the addition of many new locations on our simulcast network we should see real good numbers again in 2003."

The biggest addition for Delaware this year is adding sites in the state of New York including Nassau and Suffolk counties, the Catskills and the pari-mutuel tracks.
