Delaware, Ohio--Ace’s Up, No Pan Intended and Yankee Cruiser have an edge in Thursday’s $605,050 Little Brown Jug. All three will start from post 3 in their eliminations. According to Jug Historian Jay Wolf, in the last five years more total Delaware Grand Circuit winners have started from Post 3 than any other position.

There have been 86 winners from Post 3; 81 winners from Post 5; 75 winners from Post 1; and 80 winners each from Posts 2 and 4. Post six has produced 38 winners; Post seven 26 winners; Post eight 17 winners; Post nine 9 winners; and Post ten 6 winners.

Bill Robinson and Ben Wallace are the only winning Jug trainers to have a colt in the 58th renewal. Robinson will start four longshots, Last-Call-Crombie, Cinch Hanover, Radar Sign and Corey’s On Corey. Ben Wallace trains Pronger.

Five winning Jug drivers are back again, Michel Lachance, John Campbell, Luc Ouellette, Ron Pierce and Jack Moiseyev. Chris Christoforou is driving in the Jugette and might pick up a Jug drive before Tuesday morning’s scratch time.

Artiscape is the leading sire of 2003 Jug starters with six. Other leading 2003 sires are Life Sign and Real Artist with four starters and Abercrombie and Jenna’s Beach Boy with three each.
