Hometown filly Calico Comer won a division of Monday's $79,863 Ohio Breeders Championship at the Delaware County Fair giving her two thirds of the Ohio Triple Crown for two-year-old trotting fillies. Fred Long's Overcomer filly bested That Fly'n Angel by three-quarters of a length in 2:02.2. Tady Strikes Again (2:02.4) and Mystic Comer (2:02.4) also were OBC divisional winners.

In his Triple Crown races, Calico Comer won the $100,000 Ohio Sires Stakes Championship August 30 at Northfield Park and was placed second on July 30 in the Ohio State Fair Stakes at Scioto Downs. In the OBC Championship, Calico Comer (David Myers) moved to the lead quickly and never trailed, picking up her fourth victory in eight 2003 starts for earnings of $98,872.

Tady Strikes Again (Brett Miller), who broke stride and finished fourth in the Ohio Sires Stakes Championship, passed Flawless Lily in the final turn to win by 3 1/2 lengths. The Striking Sahbra filly, owned by Barnett Zimmerman of Deerfield, Il., has three firsts and earnings of $51,310.

Duke Sugg, driving Mystic Comer, held off his brother and the filly Perfect Hustler to win the third OBC division by three-quarters of a length. The winning filly, a daughter of Overcomer owned by Ivan Sugg, Gary Krone and Robert Hutchinson of Deshler, Ohio, was making her first foray off the county fair circuit.
