Jug Champion No Pan Intended Sweeps Triple Crown; Ranked No.1 In Weekly Standardbred Poll

Little Brown Jug champion No Pan Intended completed his sweep of Pacing's Triple Crown by winning Saturday's Final of the Messenger Stakes at The Meadows near Pittsburgh. Bob Glazer's three-year-old colt won by a length over The Globe in 1:52.4.

In winning the Cane Pace (September 1 at Freehold), Little Brown Jug 
(September 18 at Delaware, Ohio) and the Messenger, No Pan Intended became Pacing's 10th Triple Crown winner. Blissfull Hall, in 1999, was the last Triple Crown champion.

No Pan Intended also vaulted into first place in the weekly Hambletonian Society-Breeders Crown poll compiled by Harness Racing Communications.

"When I first started racing him, I didn't think he would be a Triple Crown winner," said winning driver David Miller. "He's really just blossomed into a very good horse. There's no signs of him letting up yet. I'm hoping that he'll maybe get Horse of the Year."

Trained by Ivan Sugg, No Pan Intended has won 10 consecutive starts and taken 14 of 17 overall this year. He has earned $960,492 in 2003 and $1,076,375 in his career. He is scheduled to race in the $325,000 Windy City eliminations Friday at Maywood Park, near Chicago, He will also race in the $500,000 Breeders Crown at The Meadowlands. Breeders Crown eliminations will be November 22 with the Final on November 29.
