9/20/04
Delaware, OH--Two drivers, Jeff Nisonger and Don Pfister, were taken to Grady
Memorial Hospital in Delaware following a four horse accident in yesterday's
(Monday) sixth race at the Delaware, Ohio County Fair.
Pfister has possible leg injuries and Nisonger is being held for observation.
The other drivers involved, Dale Edwards and Jim Dailey, walked away with
minor injuries.
The accident began when Victor Bloom, driven by Pfister, tripped and fell
down and R W's Outa Towner, driven by Nisonger, flipped over him. Max's Memory
(Edwards) and Presidential Pride (Dailey) piled into the downed horses. All
four horses went down. Victor Bloom untangled himself from his bike and ran out the draw gate in the
backstretch. None of the four horses appeared to be seriously injured.
My Paul Joey, driven by Chip Noble, won the race in 1:56.4.
