Final Jug Payment Due February 15

Delaware, Ohio--A final sustaining payment of $750 is due February 15th for the 60th Little Brown Jug Pacing Classic.

"We have 677 three-year-olds who are eligible to the Jug," said Tom Wright, race secretary of the Delaware, Ohio Grand Circuit. The $600,000-estimated Little Brown Jug will be raced Thursday afternoon, September 22nd at the Delaware, Ohio County Fair. The five day Grand Circuit meet begins Sunday, September 18th.

The four leading two-year-old money winners of 2004 are eligible to the 60th renewal of the Jug. They are Breeders Crown winner Vlllage Jolt ($918,577), Metro Pace winner Rocknroll Hanover ($530,781), Champlain and International Stakes winner Shanghai Phil ($476,907) and Bluegrass and International Stakes winner Allamerican Inca ($390,163).

Magical Mike Pace Nominations Due February 15th

A nomination fee of $300 is due February 15th for the $60,000-added Magical Mike Pace for foals of 2001 and up. The Open Pace, sponsored by Thomas J. Walsh and the Delaware County Fair, will be raced Thursday, September 22 . The Magical Mike, which had a purse of $102,750 in 2004, was won by Royal Mattjesty in 1:50-flat.

Jugette, Bucket, Buckette Sustaining Payments Due

A sustaining fee of $500 is due February 15th for the 35th Jugette 3YO Filly Pace and 38th Bucket 3YO Open Trot. A sustaining fee of $400 is due on February 15th for the 38th Buckette 3YO Filly Pace. These events will be racing during the 2005 Delaware Grand Circuit Week (September 18-22).

$100,000 New Century Championship Series Nominations Due February 15th

A $50 nomination fee is due February 15th for the $100,000 New Century Championship Series for two and three-year-old colts and fillies, trotters and pacers, to be raced during the 2005 Delaware Grand Circuit. All late closing and overnight events for two and three-year-olds, plus all consolation races for the Ohio Breeders Championships, have been eliminated.

To be eligible to the new series, all colts and fillies must be sired by a stallion registered with the Ohio State Racing Commission during the year of conception. There is also a $50 sustaining fee due April 15th. The New Century Championship Series is separate and distinct from the OBC championships.

All owners must be members of the Delaware County Fair Championship Series at the time of nomination. There is a $25 membership fee.
