Jug Eligibles Rocknroll Hanover & Stonebridge Regal Win North America Cup Eliminations At Woodbine

Rocknroll Hanover and Stonebridge Regal, two of the three winners of Saturday's North America Cup eliminations at Woodbine Raceway in Ontario, are eligible to the $600,000-est. Little Brown Jug scheduled September 22 at the Delaware, Ohio County Fair. Runover Feeling, the other NA Cup elim winner, is not eligible to the 60th Jug but could be supplemented if he wins the first leg of the Triple Crown, the Cane Pace, on September 5 at Freehold Raceway.

The $1.5-million North America Cup Final will be raced Saturday, June 18 at Woodbine Raceway.

Runover Feeling won the first elimination in 1:50-flat by 1 1/2 lengths over Jug eligible I Zee with non-eligible Gold Dust Beach third. Tidewater, a Jug eligible, finished fourth but earned a spot in next Saturday's Final in a draw between the three fourth place elimination finishers. Luc Ouellette drove Runover Feeling for Ohio trainer Kelly O'Donnell. Village Jolt, reigning two-year-old champion, finished seventh.

Rocknroll Hanover remained unbeaten in four 2005 starts in capturing the second North America Cup elimination, also in 1:50-flat over Jug eligibles Load The Dice and Leading X Ample. Brian Sears drove for trainer Brett Pelling. Rocknroll Hanover scored by two lengths with a final half in :53.2.

Stonebridge Regal picked up his ninth win in 12 starts this season in the other Cup elimination, beating Jug eligible Cam's Fool by 3 1/2 lengths in 1:49.4. American Ideal, a non-jug eligible, finished third. Stonebridge Regal, who did not race as a two-year-old, is trained by Bob McIntosh and was driven by Jack Moiseyev.

The first of three Jug future wagers will be offered the week following Saturday's North America Cup Final. The first future Jug pool will begin at 12-noon Thursday, June 23 and continue through 11:30 p.m. Saturday, June 26. Wagers will be accepted at racetracks throughout North America.

The future Jug wager allows racing fans to be early on all three-year-olds who are eligible to the Little Brown Jug. The minimum bet is $2.00 and all future Jug wagers are for "win" only.
