Cinder Best Shoots For 3rd Straight Lady Pace Victory In Final Career Start

Delaware, OH--Eight-year-old mare Cinder Best will be shooting for her third straight Lady Pace victory in her final career start during Sunday's opening day program at the Delaware County Fair. The Lady Pace will honor Carol Cramer of the U.S. Trotting Association.

Twenty-two races are scheduled for Delaware's opening card. First post time will be 12-noon.

Cinder Best won the 2003 Lady Pace in 1:52.2 and the 2004 renewal in 1:52.4. The daughter of Cambest has career earnings of $793,103 and a record of 1:50.4.

Win or lose Cinder Best will be retired in winner's circle ceremonies following the $12,800 Lady Pace. Cinder Best is owned by Thomas E. Gerdeman and Elaine Lauf of Napoleon, OH. She is trained by Seldon Ledford and driven by Eric Ledford.

Ms. Cramer, a native of Bloomingburg, OH, is the editor of the USTA Stakes Guide and Grand Circuit Steward and secretary.

The Delaware Grand Circuit will continue through Thursday, September 22. The 35th Jugette 3YO Filly Pace is scheduled for Wednesday, September 21 and the 60th Little Brown Jug is set for Thursday, September 22.
