Jules J. Siegel of New Hope, PA and Jeff Benton of Delaware, OH have been elected directors of the Little Brown Jug Society at the Society's annual meeting Tuesday morning at the Little Brown Jug restaurant.

The two new directors replace Charles Mitchell and Tom Wilson who died in the past year.

Siegel, along with wife Arlene, own Fashion Farms in Pennsylvania where they stand stallions Real Artist, Broadway Hall and Tagliabue and approximately 175 broodmares and racehorses.

Benton is a lifelong resident of Delaware and is the President and Chief Executive Officer of the Delaware County Bank and Trust Company.

"We discussed the staggered starting gate at great length," said LBJ Society President-Treasurer Tom Thomson, "but because of safety issues coming off the first turn we decided against using the staggered gate." Thomson added that the Society also studied the stakes payment schedule and number of horses nominated to the Delaware Grand Circuit stakes. "We made no changes."

Thomson was re-elected President-Treasurer and Tom Wright Vice President. Phil Terry, Marketing Director for the fair, was elected Secretary replacing Dick Gordin, who remains on the LBJ board. "I thought we made an excellent decision concerning the staggered gate," said Terry.
