Tom Thomson, president of the Little Brown Jug Society, director of racing at the Delaware County Fair and president of the Grand Circuit, has been elected into harness racing's Living Hall of Fame in Goshen, NY in voting by members of the U.S. Harness Writers Association and living Hall of Fame members.
Thomson has followed in the footsteps of his father, Hank, in keeping the Delaware County Fair and the Little Brown Jug as the premier stop on the Grand Circuit. Besides being president of the Society, Thomson--who first started working as an errand boy at the fair while a teenager--also serves as director racing racing at the Delaware, Ohio County Fair, a position he has held since 1973. He has served for the last 13 years as president of the Grand Circuit. Hank Thomson was also elected to the Living Hall of Fame in 1988.
All of the inductees will be formally introduced as the 2005 Awards Dinner to be held at the Harness Racing Congress in February, 2006 at Las Vegas, Nev. Formal induction ceremonies will take place at the Hall of Fame & Museum on July 2, 2006 in Goshen, NY. |
