Thereal Ideal Equals World Record In Standardbred 2YO Filly Pace

DELAWARE, OH--Undefeated Thereal Ideal equaled the World Record and established stakes and track marks in winning a division of the $55,968 Standardbred 2YO Filly Pace in 1:54 1/5 Allamerican Apex won the other division in 1:58.

John Campbell sent Thereal Ideal to the lead just before the half (:57.1) and the Western Ideal filly paced her final two quarters in 57 seconds to defeat Restive Hanover by a neck. Her time of 1:54.1 equaled the standard set in 2003 at Maywood Park by Aries Conquest. Paul Daisy trains Thereal Ideal whose five lifetime victories include a $96000 division of the Kentucky Standardbred at Indiana Downs.

Allamerican Apex, driven by Dave Palone for trainer Michael Burke, picked up her sixth 2004 victory by a nose over Labor Of Love. Allamerican Aex is by Western Hanover.

Western Saloon and Kansas City Spur won divisions of the $62,768 Standardbred 2YO Colt Pace in identical 1:55 clockings. Western Saloon, a Western Hanover colt driven by David Miller for trainer Brian Brown, scored his fourth win in seven career starts by a margin of one and three-quarters lengths.

Kansas City Spur, another son of Western Hanover, led every step in beating Oozie's Bad Boy for his third victory in 2004. Richard Stillings trains and drove Kansas City Spur.
