Delaware, OH--Racing fans will have a fourth opportunity to place future wagers on the Little Brown Jug during the week which leads up to the 2006 pacing classic. The final future wager will open at 12-noon, Sunday, September 17 and will be offered for a period of four days, through 11:30 p.m. Wednesday, September 20. Wagers will be accepted at racetracks throughout North America.

This is the third straight year that the Delaware County Fair will offer future wagers on the Little Brown Jug. The future wager allows fans to bet early on all three-year-olds who are eligible to the Jug. The minimum bet is $2.00 and all future wagers are for "win" only.

Each of the four betting pools will be for a period of four days as follows:

12 p.m. June 22 through 11:30 p.m. June 25. This is the weekend following the North America Cup at Woodbine.

12 p.m. July 20 through 11:30 p.m. July 23. This is the weekend following the Meadowlands Pace at The Meadowlands.

12 p.m. August 17 through 11:30 p.m. August 20. This is the weekend of the Cleveland Classic at Northfield Park and the week before the Cane Pace at Freehold Raceway.

12 p.m. September 17 through 11:30 p.m. September 20. This is during the first four Grand Circuit afternoons of racing at the Delaware Fair.

All of the horses entered for the 2006 Little Brown Jug and their post positions will be known following the draw on Saturday morning, September 16 at the log cabin on the backstretch of the fairgrounds.

The winner of each pool is determined by the official first place finishers in the 2006 Little Brown Jug to be raced September 21.

P-Forty Seven, who won the 2005 Little Brown Jug, paid $377.80 in the first pool; returned $22.40 in the second pool; and paid $43.20 for the third pool.

Delaware Fair Marketing Director Phil Terry will again have a team of racing analysts and handicappers select 23 horses for each pool. The rest of the horses will be packaged together into one "field" wager. The field will open at 5-1 odds. The horses included in each of the four wagering pools will be listed in alphabetical order.

Every three-year-old pacer in North America is included in the Jug field because if a colt wins the Cane Pace he can be supplemented into the Little Brown Jug.

The official fields for each Little Brown Jug future wager will be released at the standard time of 48 hours before the start of wagering. At that time performance and program information also will be made available.
