| Ron Jackson, Breeder of Jug Winner Shady Character, Dies

Powell, OH--Ron Jackson, the breeder along with his daughter Tammy Bauslaugh of 1998 Little Brown Jug winner Shady Character, died this past Tuesday following a brief illness. Jackson was also the breeder and co-owner of the world champion and $1,807,555 winning pacing filly Shady Daisy.
Jackson was a lifelong resident of Liberty Township, OH where he farmed. He split his breeding expertise between Standardbred horses and purebred swine, and was a winner of the national Young Farmer of the Year award. He also had served as president of both the Olentangy and Delaware County (Ohio) School boards.
He is survived by his wife Sue (Russell) Jackson; daughters Teri and Tammy and son Thomas.
The family has asked that flowers be omitted, and indicated that memorial donations would be welcomed by the Hyatts United Methodist Church, 6000 Liberty Road, Powell, OH 43065. |
