Dr. Frank Todd Honored with Joe Neville Award

Dr. Frank Todd, a 1944 graduate of the Ohio State University School of Veterinary Medicine, was involved with horses most of his life. Born in 1920 in the Cincinnati suburb of Montgomery, Todd won his first harness race at age 16.  He served  in World War ll and was drafted as a first lieutenant in the Korean War.

In later years Todd bred and raced standardbreds, and in 1974 he and his wife Natalie, and their six children, relocated to a farm in Delaware County.

Over the years Dr. Todd campaigned many top horses in Ohio including Delaware County Fair
® stakes winners Way San, Scribe and Highmark.  He also trained, drove and co-owned the champion filly Oopsie.

Dr. Todd retired from training and driving horses in 1999 after being seriously injured in a training accident in Florida. He died in 2002 at age 81.

Dr. Todd was a member of the Florida Harness Racing Hall of Fame and served as a director of the Little Brown Jug
® Society. He was also a member of the Ohio Harness Horsemen’s Association.
