“Field” Is 4-1 Choice Of Bettors In Second Jug Future Wagering Pool

Delaware, OH--Bettors have made the “Field” the 4-1 favorite in the second of four future wagering pools for the 2006 Little Brown Jug.  Jereme’s Jet and Total Truth are next at odds of 6-1.   Doonbeg is 8-1 and Feelin Friskie is 9-1. 

The pool consists of 23 separate betting entries plus the field.  Every three-year-old pacer in North America is included in the field because if a colt wins the first leg of the Triple Crown, the Cane Pace, he can be supplemented into the Little Brown Jug.  Therefore, the field includes such non-Jug eligibles as Meadowlands Pace winner Artistic Fella and runner-up My Boy David. 

Jereme’s Jet, the reigning Dan Patch two-year-old champion, is on a two-race winning streak having won the $100,000 Meadowlands Pace Consolation and last Saturday’s $29,000 American-National elimination.  Total Truth captured both the $1,500,000 North America Cup and the $450,000 Hoosier Cup.  Doonbeg took last weekend’s Canadian Breeders   elimination and Feelin Friskie was runner-up in the North America Cup.

On tap this weekend is the $250,000 American-National Final at Balmoral and the $152,000 Canadian Breeders Final at Mohawk Raceway in Ontario.

The third future wagering pool will be from 12 p.m. August 17 through 11:30 p.m. August 20. This is the weekend of the Cleveland Classic at Northfield Park and the week before the Cane Pace eliminations at Freehold Raceway.  The fourth future wagering pool will begin Sunday, September 17 through 11:30 p.m. Wednesday, September 20.  This is during the first four afternoons of Grand Circuit racing at the Delaware Fair.
