Delaware, OH--Total Truth, Western Ace and Cactus Creek, the top three finishers in last week’s Delvin Miller Adios, are the morning line favorites for the third Little Brown Jug future wagering pool.  The third pool gets underway at 12 p.m. Thursday, August 17 and continues through 11:30 p.m. Sunday, August 20 at racetracks and internet sites throughout North America and Europe. 

The 61st Little Brown Jug, scheduled for September 21 at the Delaware County Fair, appears to be the most wide open in recent years.  In action this past weekend, Western Ace, Sandro Hanover and True North Hanover won Adios eliminations. Cactus Creek, making his first start in serious competition, won the Adios  Final over Western Ace and Total Truth in 1:50.2.  Jug eligible Mr. Feelgood won the $130,000 Ontario Sires Gold Stakes in 1:51.3 at Windsor Raceway and Jug eligibles Lucky Point Blank and Joe To Go finished one-two in the $71,600 Kentucky Summers Series Championship at The Red Mile.  The mile was in 1:50.3.

The Road to the Jug continues today (August 15) with the $50,000 Review Futurity at Springfield, Il.  Heading up the action this weekend is Saturday’s $175,000-est. Cleveland Classic at Northfield Park and Sunday’s $600,000 Confederation Cup at Flamboro Downs.  

Total Truth, who finished third in the Adios, is 7/2 in the morning line. Western Ace, second in the Adios, is the second choice at 4-1 and Adios winner Cactus Creek, making his first appearance on the “Top 23” list, is 9/2. 

The pool consists of 23 separate betting entries plus the field.  Every three-year-old pacer in North America is included in the field because if a colt wins the Cane Pace, the first leg of the Triple Crown, he can be supplemented  into the Little Brown Jug.  The field is 6-1 in the morning line.
