Mr. Feelgood Captures 61st Little Brown Jug
Mr. Feelgood and Mark MacDonald captured the 61st edition of the $541,000 Little Brown Jug in straight heats in front of 52,087 Thursday afternoon at the Delaware County Fairgrounds.
As the field of nine was sent away in the $259,679 second heat, Armbro Deuce (George Brennan) left hard from the five hole and grabbed the lead before the quarter in :26. Mr. Feelgood sat second on the rail through a :54.3 half and a three-quarters in 1:22. MacDonald, the 27-year-old native of Prince Edward Island, pulled Mr. Feelgood off the rail at the top of the lane to defeat a late closing Cactus Creek (Mike Lachance) by 1 ¾ lengths. The pacesetting Armbro Deuce faded to third.

With the second heat victory in 1:50.3, Mr. Feelgood established a new two-heat world record of 3:40.3, breaking the mark set by MacDonald and American Ideal last season.
In the first elimination, Mr. Feelgood went gate to wire in 1:50 to establish a new world record. The sophomore son of Grinfromeartoear controlled the pace with :26.3, 54.3 and 1:21.4 fractions. Armbro Dynamic (John Campbell) and Doonbeg (Jody Jamieson) rallied late in the stretch, but came up 1 1/2 lengths short.
In the second elimination, Cactus Creek established a world record for gelding pacers with a 1:50.3 victory over Total Truth (Ron Pierce) and True North Hanover (Dave Palone).

A Pair Of Upsets In The Old Oaken Bucket
Mystic Glide and Limbo Glide,
sons of
Mystic Glide (Duke Sugg) also equaled the world record for a three-year-old
trotting gelding of 1:56 in beating heavy favorite Mr. Pine Chip (Brian Sears)
for only his second win of the season. Mystic Glide led throughout the mile and
held off Mr Pine Chip’s late challenge to win by a
half-length. Ivan Sugg
trains and owns Mystic Glide who paid $53.20 to win.
Limbo Glide (Ron Pierce) grabbed
the lead just before the three-quarters and coasted home by five lengths ahead
of Bob Heyden (Brian Sears) and Boardwalk Hall (Mike Lachance) in 1:56.1.
The colt, who won for the fifth time this year, is owned by Christiana Takter and Misty Trotting and trained by Jimmy Takter. Limbo Glide
paid $14.20 to win.
