A Pair Of Upsets In The  Old Oaken Bucket

Mystic Glide and Limbo Glide, sons of New Jersey stallion Yankee Glide, captured divisions of the $150,000 (div.) Old Oaken Bucket three-year-old colt trot. 

Mystic Glide (Duke Sugg) also equaled the world record for a three-year-old trotting gelding of 1:56 in beating heavy favorite Mr. Pine Chip (Brian Sears) for only his second win of the season. Mystic Glide led throughout the mile and held off Mr Pine Chip’s late challenge to win by a half-length.  Ivan Sugg trains and owns Mystic Glide who paid $53.20 to win.

Limbo Glide (Ron Pierce) grabbed the lead just before the three-quarters and coasted home by five lengths ahead of Bob Heyden (Brian Sears) and Boardwalk Hall (Mike Lachance) in 1:56.1.  The colt, who won for the fifth time this year, is owned by Christiana Takter and Misty Trotting and trained by Jimmy Takter.  Limbo Glide paid $14.20 to win.
