FILLY SOUTHWIND TEMPO WILL RACE IN JUGETTE

DELAWARE, OH--The suspense is over!!!  Trainer Steve Elliott announced this
morning that filly pacer Southwind Tempo will not race against the colts in
next week’s 62nd Little Brown Jug but will start instead in the $300,000-est.
Jugette filly pace next Wednesday afternoon at the Delaware County Fair.

“It was the right thing to do,”  said Elliott.  “Going two or three heats
against the boys just didn’t seem logical. “  Elliott said that his two owners,
Alton Lynch, Jr. and Wayne Chrebet, agreed that the filly should race in the
Jugette.

Southwind Tempo has won 14 of 17 starts this season and 17 of 20 lifetime.
She has earned $792,904 and has a record of 1:49.3, taken at Pocono Downs.

Fan Hanover, in 1981, became the only filly ever to beat the colts in the
Little Brown Jug and was the last filly to start in the Jug.
