A And G’sconfusion Heads 141 Jugette Eligibles

A And G’sconfusion, who swept the Dan Patch, O’Brien and Nova Awards as the best two-year-old pacing filly of 2007, is a strong early favorite to win the $330,000-est. Jugette
Filly Pace. The 38th Jugette will be raced Wednesday, September 17th at the Delaware, OH County Fairgrounds.
A total of 140 three-year-old filly pacers are eligible to the Jugette, including the highest rated filly on Stan Bergstein’s Experimental Championship Ratings and three of
the top 10 money winning three-year-olds of either sex in 2007. The 140 Jugette eligibles is an increase from last year’s total of 117.
A And G’sconfusion is a homebred owned by Willie Tomlin, who heads the A & G Stable of The Bronx, NY. The son of All American Native, who stands at Hanover Shoe Farms in
Pennsylvania, won five of 10 starts with two seconds, and earned $817,000, second only to the colt and Little Brown Jug favorite Somebeachsomewhere. A And G’sconfusion also
established a World Record of 1:50.3 in winning her Bluegrass Stakes division at Lexington’s Red Mile. The Mark Capone-trained filly captured two rich Canadian stakes, the
$743,090 She’s A Great Lady and $686,608 Three Diamonds. She wound up her juvenile campaign on a low note, finishing second to Chancey Lady in the Breeders Crown elimination
and eighth to Stylish Artist in the Final.
A top challenger will be Chancey Lady, a filly by Camluck owned by Niele Jiwan of Burnaby, British Columbia and trained by Cassie Coleman. Chancey Lady earned $363,327 with
seven victories including her upset of A And C’sconfusion in the Breeders Crown elimination. Other wins included the $300,000 Ontario Sires Stakes Final and the $130,000
Ontario Gold Final.
Beachy Girl is another major Jugette contender for the Joe Seekman Stable of Centerville, MI and Hal Hewitt of Versailles, KY. The daughter of Real Desire won nine of 13
starts in 2007, including the $200,000 Kentucky Sires Stakes Final and divisions of the Bluegrass and International Stallion Stakes, all coming during the Red Mile Grand
Circuit.
Other preseason Jugette contenders, with earnings in parenthesis: Thong ($332,857), Up Front Bethann ($322,163), Art’s Diva ($251,154), Good News Lady ($231,474), Miss
Scarlett ($172,538), Edra Hanover ($145,333), and Wondrous Grace ($54,361).
