by Tom White

H. C. “Chip” Thomson became the third generation of his family to serve as a director

of the Little Brown Jug Society. Thomson replaces the late William Millhoan.

Thomson’s grandfather Henry “Hank” Clay Thomson and father W.D. “Tom” Thomson

have served as directors of the Little Brown Jug Society.  Chip Thomson replaces the

late William Millhoan as a director of the Society.

Little Brown Jug Society directors voted to support the U.S. Trotting Association’s rule

change proposal on whipping which states that drivers must keep their lines in both

hands the entire race, thus changing the manner some drivers use the whip.

The directors also voted to support the RMTC Consortium formed to study the use of

Antibolic Steroids and supported the ban on the use of four types of steroids.

The Society also approved the option to race eliminations of the Little Brown Jug and

Jugette on a day other than the main event at the option of the race sponsor “The society”.

However, their intent remained to continue the present format.

The Society also re-elected Tom Thomson president-treasurer, Tom Wright vice-president

and Phil Terry secretary.
