Dennis Sets World Record; Miller Sweeps Old Oaken Bucket

David Miller continued his dominance of the Delaware County Fairgrounds oval with a world record performance with Dennis in the

second division of the $151,120 (div) Old Oaken Bucket for three-year-old trotting colts.

At the start of the second $75,560 division, Dennis was sent fast out of post four. Like A Dream (Ron Pierce) took control of the field

of 8 just past the quarter in :27 3/5. Miller didn’t want to sit in the pocket and retook control of the field past the 3/8 mile pole and was

never challenged as he sprinted home in a world record 1:53 3/5. The new mark eclipsed Define

The World’s mark by nearly a full second

Dennis is owned by Robert Slowey, Anthony Minute and Dennis Osterholt. The gelded son of Lindy Lane is trained by Roland Mallar.

In the first division, Miller, the all-time leading driver at Delaware, sent his charge first over down the backstretch and cleared before

the ¾ mile pole and scored in 1:56 2/5. Foggy Lane K (Charlie  Norris) was second and Over Ruled (John Campbell) earned the show spot.

The Budster is owned by Stephen and Eugene Oldfield and trained by Peter Foley. The gelded son of Broadway Hall established a

new lifetime mark in his 1 1/2 length win.

Susie’s Magic Wins Miss Versatility Trot Final

Susie’s Magic used a perfect pocket trip to capture the Miss Versatility Final in a national season’s best 1:54 2/5. Godiva Hall (Andy Miller)

was hustled off the gate’s wings from post 7 and led through the first three quarters of a mile, but Susie’s Magic was able to get by the tiring

leader to score a half length victory.

The five-year-old Dream Vacation mare is owned by L & L Devisser and William Jones and is conditioned by Tony O’Sullivan.

The lion’s share of the $117,500 purse improved her career earnings to $700,946.

The Miss Versatility Trot series, sponsored by Jeff Gural’s Allerage Farm, features the top trotting mares in North America. The series

traveled to four different tracks with four different circumferences; Delaware County Fairgrounds (1/2 mile), Tioga Downs (5/8 mile),

Vernon Downs (7/8 mile) and the Meadowlands (1 mile).
