Marilyn Evans Fogle, a former parade marshal and outrider, will be honored as the 2026 Lady Pace honoree by the Delaware County Fair.

Ms. Fogle was the parade marshal and outrider at the Delaware County Fair and the Little Brown Jug from 1957 to 1979, riding Silver Tomahawk Jr., a grey she raised from a colt.

In 1980, Ms. Fogle turned the reins of parade marshal and outrider duties over to her cousin, Diane Winters, the 2015 Lady Pace Honoree.

Ms. Fogle was deeply involved in mentoring Delaware County youth through their 4-H horse programs, shaping generations of young horsemen and horsewomen.

In 2025, she served as a panelist for the Delaware County Historical Society’s “The Horse World in Delaware County” program.

“Marilyn Evans Fogle embodied the spirit of the Delaware County Fair and the Little Brown Jug for more than two decades. She was a steady, trusted presence with grace, pride, and a deep love for our traditions,” noted Tom Wright, president of the Little Brown Jug Society.

“We are grateful for her years of service, her devotion to our community, and the legacy and memories that she continues to share.”

She will be honored in a winner’s circle ceremony on Jug Day (Thursday, Sept. 24).
